Description

Modelled somewhat upon Miss Mason’s own programme for Paper Sloyd in the elementary years, the children will work systematically through three set texts, Paper FoldingPaper Tearing, and Paper Modelling. Throughout the course students will progress steadily from building simple designs, such as envelopes, hats, baskets, and flags to more complex models, such as canoes, boats, clocks, pianos, and chests of drawers.

This comprehensive course can begin as early as with pupils of around six years of age in their first year of formal schooling, but may be picked up and worked through by older students of any age who want to establish a firm foundation and working knowledge in Paper Sloyd.

Inside the Teacher’s Guide you will find:

• Paper Sloyd scope and sequence
• Detailed supply lists
• Four years worth of lesson plans
• A step-by-step walk-through of each lesson
• Skills lessons to afford students extra time in practising new skills
• Alternative Design Lessons where children can exercise their originality
• Helpful hints and pitfalls to look out for during lessons
• End of term examinations
• Assessment pages for teachers to keep track of their pupil’s progress
