Available now: ‘History Pictures for a Living Education: Early Britain’

We’re thrilled to announce the release of our brand new history resource for home educators using the Charlotte Mason Method of Education.

‘History Pictures for a Living Education: Early Britain’ is the first in an exciting new series and features over one hundred photographs and illustrations of arms, relics, artefacts, fashions, sites and castles, architecture, artwork of historic events, plans and maps, and portraits of eminent persons.

‘History Pictures for a Living Education’ is a brand new series designed to bring history to life for students and young people studying the events of the past. Brought to you exclusively by Charlotte Mason Beehive these books are largely based off Black’s History Pictures, a series published by A. & C. Black in the early twentieth century. An edition of Black’s History Pictures was suggested as a suitable resource by Miss Charlotte Mason of the P.N.E.U. (Parents’ National Educational Union) in the programmes she sent out to home schoolrooms at that time.

This is the perfect companion to history lesson books, such as ‘Our Island Story’, by H. E. Marshall, and will bring the past to life in the minds of students reading about the people and events of former years. Designed primarily—but not exclusively—for home educators using the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education, this book can be used by students of all ages and forms studying British History.

Printed on 120 gsm gloss paper, the book is spiral bound for ease of use, all pictures are clearly labelled, and most include captions to provide context and continuity throughout.

We can’t wait for you to enhance your history lessons with this unique new resource.

You can order the new book here. Please note that upon releasing the book on Tuesday, 4 May 2021, we sold out within four hours. The book is now available on backorder and we are expecting more stock to come in within the next seven days.
